Rally to Save School for Pregnant Teens and Teenage Mothers
|
Detroit, Michigan - Members of the United Auto Workers join a rally to save Catherine Ferguson Academy, a public school for pregnant teens and teenage mothers. The highly-regarded school graduates 97 percent of its students, but had been slated to close as a cost-cutting measure by the Detroit Public Schools' emergency financial manager. During the rally, the school's principal announced that an agreement had been reached to keep Catherine Ferguson open as a charter school.
