Contaminated Spots in Neighborhood Next to Velsicol Chemical Superfund Site
|
St. Louis, Michigan - Temporary fences on Bankson Street next to the site of the former Velsicol chemical plant surround spots where hazardous contamination has been discovered. The Velsicol site has been one of the costliest contamination cleanups handled by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund program. The cleanup of DDT, PBB, TCE, and other toxic chemicals on the site and in the adjacent Pine River has been ongoing since 1982.
