|
Detroit, Michigan - The Mosaic Youth Theatre performs "2001 Hastings Street," a play about being a teenager in Detroit's lower east side "Black Bottom" neighborhood in the 1940's. In this scene actors used masks to change their identity from black to white as they re-created the 1943 race riot.
Mosaic Youth Theatre is a free program which provides professional-quality theater and music training for teenagers in the Detroit area. The group's performances deal with issues in its members' lives and in their community.
