Same Sex Marriage Legalized in Michigan
|
Pontiac, Michigan - Hundreds of gay and lesgian couples applied for marriage licenses in several Michigan counties after U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman ruled that the state's ban on same-sex marriage was discriminatory and unconstitutional. B.C. Cabangbang (in uniform) and his partner Gary Murphy were married outside the Oakland County Courthouse after receiving their marriage license. The couple has been together for 24 years. Performing the ceremony were Rev. Roland Stringfellow (far right) and Rev. Deb Dysert.
