|
Port Huron, Michigan - Thousands of rafters participated in the annual Port Huron Float Down on the St. Clair River. In the not-officially-sanctioned event, rafters floated 7.5 miles from the Blue Water international bridge to Chrysler Park in Marysville. Because the volume of participants, the Coast Guard closed the river to Great Lakes freighters and other motorized vessels. The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Hollyhock sprayed water to cool the rafters on the 90-degree day.
