Firefighters, Police Beat Back Health Care Cuts

Lansing, Michigan USA - 6 December 2016 - Firefighters and police officers rally at the Michigan state capitol to protest bills in Michigan's Republican-controlled lame duck legislature that would scale back health benefits for active and retired employees. During the rally, union leaders announced that legislative leaders had agreed to shelve the bills until the 2017 legislative session. In a tent on the capitol lawn, retired Lansing fire chief Henderson Bodiford e-mailed his representatives to express his views on the legislation.
