Salvation Knoll in Bears Ears National Monument

Blanding, Utah - Salvation Knoll in Bears Ears National Monument, a 1.35 million acre scenic and historic region in southeastern Utah. Mormon pioneers climbed this hill on Christmas Day in 1879; the view from the top enabled them to find their way towards land they hoped to settle. The national monument was established by President Barack Obama at the end of his term. President Donald Trump plans to cut the size of the monument by 85%.
