PFAS Chemicals Contaminate City's Water Supply
|
Parchment, Michigan – Following the discovery of high concentrations of PFAS in Parchment's drinking water, efforts are underway to connect the city's water system to that of nearby Kalamazoo, Michigan. As an emergency solution, a Kalamazoo fire truck pumps water from a Kalamazoo fire hydrant down the street to connect with the Parchment system. PFAS is a family of chemicals widely used in firefighting foam, waterproofing for clothing, and many other products. Exposure has been linked to a variety of serious diseases.
