Florida Farmworkers Picket Wendy's for Better Pay for Tomato Workers
|
Ypsilanti, Michigan USA - 9 March 2019 - Members of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and their supporters rally at a Wendy's fast food restaurant, asking the company to pay a penny a pound more for the Florida tomatoes it buys. The additional penny would go to improve wages for Florida farmworkers. The rally was part of a tour, targeting Wendy's stores in several university towns. CIW wants the universities to end their relationships with Wendy's until the chain joins the Fair Food Program.
