Auto Assembly Plant Planned for Detroit

Detroit, Michigan - Hundreds crowded into a union hall to hear about Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' plan to build a new auto assembly plant in a low-income neighborhood. FCA plans to invest $2.5 billion and create 4,950 jobs in the new facility and an existing plant. The meeting was part of Detroit's community benefits process where neighbors of the development have a chance to participate in the planning process. Allen Penniman of Detroit's Planning and Development Department explained plans for the new factory.
