|
Dearborn, Michigan - A crowd of nearly 10,000 persons rallied outside the Lord & Taylor store in the Fairlane Mall to protest the death of an African American shopper. Frederick Finley was put in a choke-hold by a store security guard after his 11-year-old daughter was suspected of shoplifting a $4 bracelet. Finley died of axphyxiation.
People in the crowd held up four $1 bills, indicating the value they thought Lord & Taylor placed on Finley's life.
