George Washington Carver National Monument

Diamond, Missouri - The Boy Carver statue, by sculptor Robert Amendola, at George Washington Carver National Monument. The monument preserves the Moses and Susan Carver farm where Carver was born as a slave in about 1864. It was the first National Monument to honor an African-American.
