Historic Site of Bent's New Fort

Lamar, Colorado - The site of Bent's New Fort, a historic fort and trading post on the Santa Fe Trail. William Bent built the fort in 1849 after his old fort, further west, was destroyed by fire. (Bent's Old Fort has been reconstructed and is now an important National Park Service site.)
