Jeep Liberty Powered by Biodiesel Fuel
|
Rose Center, Michigan - A Jeep Liberty powered by biodiesel fuel in front of a crop of soybeans from which biodiesel can be made. Researchers from Michigan State University are growing soybeans and other crops in this field, which was the site of a Superfund toxic waste dump, to study the use of polluted sites to produce crops for ethanol or biodiesel fuel. If successful, the project could be a model for returning industrial or toxic dump sites to productive use. DaimlerChrysler is paying for the cleanup of the site.
