International Day to Shut Down Guantanamo

Washington, DC - January 11, 2007 - A coalition of peace, religious, and civil liberties groups picketed the federal court house in Washington to urge the government to shut down the Guantanamo dentention center in Cuba. Some of the protesters, dressed in orange prison jumpsuits and black hoods, blocked the front entrance to the courthouse, waving Habeas Corpus petitions. It was part of a coordinated International Day to Shut Down Guantanamo.
