UAW Fights to Save Jobs at Rouge Steel Mill

Dearborn, Michigan USA - 14 August 2025 - The United Auto Workers union marched and rallied at the the historic Rouge steel mill, demanding that owner Cleveland-Cliffs make the investments promised in its 2024 contract with the UAW. Instead, Cliffs has laid off 500 workers, shutting down much of its steelmaking operations. UAW President Shawn Fain spoke at the rally.
