Hotevilla-Bacavi, Arizona - Corn grows on the Hopi Reservation, where the annual rainfall is about 10 inches. Without irrigation, Hopi growers use traditional dry farming techniques, planting seeds in widely-spaced clusters 18 inches deep. They use heirloom seeds that have become adapted to dry conditions.
