Voting Rights Trail Interpretive Center
|
White Hall, Alabama - A cattle prod on display at the Voting Rights Trail Interpretive Center. Cattle prods were frequently used by police during the civil rights movement as a weapon against demonstrators. The Interpretive Center tells the story of the civil rights movement and the struggle for the right to vote by African-Americans. It is run by the National Park Service and is located at the midpoint of the historic 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights march.
