Phoenix, Arizona - The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, a stretch of the Salt River near downtown Phoenix. The area had turned into a dump site after diversion of water to the city and to agriculture left the riverbed dry. Now, several wells provide water for vegetation, which attracts wildlife, and trails provide recreation for city residents.
