Children Work in Garden of Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit
|
Detroit, Michigan - Children harvest basil in the Capuchin Soup Kitchen's organic garden. The basil is planted in the middle of a row of carrots. Produce from the garden goes to low-income residents and is used in the soup kitchen's programs. The children are from the Indian Village Child Care Center. They work in the garden every week. The Capuchin program aims to teach children about gardening as well as to help feed the hungry.
