Teachers Union Campaigns for School Board Reform

Hamtramck, Michigan - Bo Karpinsky, a member of the American Federation of Teachers and a gym teacher at Kosciuszko Middle School, goes door-to-door in the school's neighborhood, talking with residents about problems the teachers have with the school board. He is handing out flyers in five languages, including Bosnian, Arabic, and Urdu. The neighborhood is home to many immigrants. Students at Kosciuszko school speak nearly 20 different languages.
