Residents Oppose Nuclear Waste Dump Near Great Lakes

Port Huron, Michigan - Residents of the United States and Canada rallied to oppose a plan to store radioactive nuclear waste underground near Lake Huron. Ontario Power Generation plans to build a deep geologic repository a half mile from the lake near its Kincardine, Ontario nuclear power plant. Activists say a leak would endanger the drinking water supply for millions.
