Cantil, California - The Los Angeles Aqueduct carries water from California's Owens Valley to Los Angeles. Through Jawbone Canyon, the aqueduct is contained in pressurized steel pipes. Los Angeles bought the rights to Owens Valley water in the early 1900s, drying up Owens Lake and ending most farming in the valley.
