Candlelight Vigil at U.S.-Mexico Border Fence

Nogales, Arizona - 8 October 2016 - Religious activists hold a candlelight vigil at the U.S.-Mexico border fence. A woman on the U.S. side lights a candle through the fence for a Mexican girl. The interfaith religious ceremony protested the increasing militarization of the border, the separation of immigrant families, and U.S. policies that make it hard for refugees fleeing repression to enter the United States. The event was organized by the School of the Americas Watch, a group of religious and community activists.
