Taos Pueblo - Ruins of Old San Geronimo Church

Taos, New Mexico - The ruins of the old San Geronimo church in Taos Pueblo, home to the Taos Indians for nearly a thousand years. One hundred fifty Indians seeking refuge in the church were killed when the U.S. Army bombarded the church in an 1847 attack on the pueblo. The courtyard of the church then became a cemetery.
