Groundbreaking for Rehab of Detroit's Packard Plant
|
Detroit, Michigan USA - 16 May 2017 - Dave and Maureen Dolby polish their 1956 Packard in front of the long-closed factory where it was made on the day that groundbreaking ceremonies were held for the 400-acre plant's rehabilitation. Over the years, the plant's ruins became the symbol of the decline of Detroit. Peruvian developer Fernando Palazuelo purchased the plant at a tax foreclosure auction, and hopes to transform it into a mix of commercial, residential, recreation, and artists' spaces.
