Poor Peoples Campaign
|
Detroit, Michigan USA - 18 June 2018 - Several hundred people rallied in Detroit to support the Poor Peoples Campaign against poverty, racism, militarism, and ecological devastation. Rev. Denise Griebler, pastor of First United Church of Christ in Richmond, Michigan, waded into a public fountain. She was symbolically collecting water for Flint, where drinking water was contaminated with lead, and for Detroit, where many poor people have had their water shut off because they couldn't pay their bills.
